A small website builder for people who show their work.
Happybara is a visual site builder for portfolios and personal sites. You lay out pages on a freeform canvas — real layout control, with breakpoints you define yourself — pick a palette and a pair of typefaces, and publish to a fast, static page.
It lives in the gap between the single-page builders, which are wonderfully cheap but run out of room, and the professional tools, which cost more than a portfolio should. Happybara aims for the square in between: more capability than the former, a fraction of the price of the latter.
What it does today
- A canvas, not a form. Multi-page sites laid out by direct manipulation — drag, resize, nest.
- Breakpoints you choose. Any widths you like; styles cascade from the widest down.
- Themes. Palettes, font pairings, and section styles, tunable per site.
- Publishing. One click, and your site is live at its own URL.
Happybara is built by one person, evenings and weekends, for the joy of it. No team, no roadmap theater, no growth targets. It moves at a capybara’s pace — unhurried and unbothered — and it will stay simple on purpose.
It’s built in Europe and stays there: sites are hosted in the EU, and published pages carry no third-party trackers — any analytics stay in-house, and nothing follows your visitors around the web. Accessibility is treated as part of the craft, not a checkbox.
A fair warning: it’s early. Things still move around and occasionally break, so it isn’t yet the place for a website you depend on. One day — but not today.
